Hiya friends! Feeling a bit old school today using a style that’s been around longer than I have been, the sunburst/starburst card, so let’s have some fun and get started!
Paper Rose Products used: Blooming Proteas 6 x 6 Paper Collection, Blooming Proteas Die Cuts, Happy Birthday Sentiment Sheets, Blooming Blossoms Shimmer Cardstock, Smooth White Cardstock, Crystal Mix
Other products used: foam tape, liquid glue
Technique:
- Fold 1 sheet of Smooth White Cardstock in half to create your card base.
- Cut the piece of light pink shimmer cardstock to 13cm x 9cm and set aside.
- Cut 4cm wide strips from each of the patterned papers, and then cut down into: one 11cm piece, one 10cm piece, three 7.5cm pieces, two 5cm pieces.
- Cut these from top right to bottom left corners to create your sunburst pieces.
- Mark a dot approx. 4cm from the top and 3cm in from the left side on your pink shimmer cardstock, this is the point all your pieces will meet.
- Work around the pink panel adding your sunburst strips leaving a small gap between each of the patterned papers.
- Once the pattern is complete, cut away all the excess paper hanging over the edge of your pink shimmer cardstock, then foam mount to the front of your card base.
- Add your die cut image to cover up where the points meet.
- Cut sentiment from sheet, back it with a piece of the pink shimmer cardstock and foam mount into place.
- Add clear crystals across the front of your card.
Thanks for dropping in, see you again soon! – Kelly
