Soft and Elegant Daisy Card - Donna Lewis

Soft and Elegant Daisy Card - Donna Lewis

Tania Ridgwell |

Hi crafty friends! Donna here, and it’s time for me to share another card with you. I’m back to the flowers again – we all know that I couldn’t stay away for too long! It’s now been just over a year that I’ve been staying at home, but I’m really pleased that Spring is here, and I can even see flowers from my window.
I’ve been playing with some new-to-me paper. I recently purchased some Oyster White shimmer cardstock from Paper Rose Studio. I already had some of the brighter whites in their shimmer paper, but I wanted something more creamy, and this definitely fits the bill. I cut this paper using the Leaf Burst Rectangle Die. This die cuts the paper into two sections – a central stitched leaf design, and a frame with the leaves fully cut out. You can use either part on its own, or use them together as I’ve done here.
I made a video of the card making process, and for the first time, I included a tiny bit of video footage of where I live. I’m thinking of adding just a little of my life in Japan to my videos, and I’ve made a start. If you’d like to watch the video, you can see it here. Otherwise, you can just read on below…
The stamp that I used is called Daisy Days. There are matching dies available for this set, but I don’t own them, so the trusty scissors came out again. Lots of ins and outs, I can tell you! I think the dies will be on my shopping list! I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and coloured them with my Copic Markers. I used Y28, YR18, YR24 and Y21 for the petals and E44, E43 and Y21 for the flower centers. The leaves were coloured in YG67, YG17 and YG05.
The background paper is one that I was able to pick up last year in Tokyo, back in the good old days when the trains felt safe! I still have a little in my stash. The sentiment and the top flower were popped up with foam tape, but everything else was stuck directly down with glue. If you’ve enjoyed this card and would like to see more, I’d love to see you over on my Instagram feed.
I hope that you are having an excellent day, and that the weather is treating you well, wherever you are in the world.
Until next time,
Blessings
