Hello crafty friends. Put your sunglasses on and buckle down for this one!!! I’ve got a set of three cards today that are, well let’s just say, a little brighter than my usual!
I’m using Paper Rose’s fun Sweet Rainbow Die today, and I’ve made a set of three cards with different colours and techniques. I first cut the rainbows from different colour card. Almost all the colours I used came from the Brights Coloured Cardstock from Paper Rose. This pack contains all the colours of the rainbow (pun unintended, but appreciated by me), but in particular it has a great range of oranges and pinks, that I have used today.
If you’re the type of person that would rather see the cards made in person, I have a YouTube video here for you.
Once my rainbows were cut, I separated out the colours but kept the negative outline pieces to use later to line everything up. I then got on with contracting the rainbows. For the first two cards here used the negative outline, and glued into the gaps to place my pieces down. For this first card, I used the Happy Birthday Stitched Metal die for the sentiment.
The second card uses a black background, which made the rainbows really pop! The sentiment comes from the Big Black and White sentiment sheets, and I’ve used a circle die to cut it and its mat out.
Finally, I used the negative outline as well as the rainbow pieces for this card, so that it would look like the sun. Because I was using the negative pieces too, I could use a large piece of double sided tape behind the rainbow which made sticking everything down much faster (but also much stickier, as the video shows!) The fabulous waves are made using the Wave Borders Metal Die. The sentiment uses Fine Script Sending and a word from the So extra supporting sentiments sheets.
Until next time, stay safe my friends, and may you have rainbows and sunshine in your life.
Blessings,
Donna
