Pastel Slimline Card - Kelly Bates

Pastel Slimline Card - Kelly Bates

Tania Ridgwell |

Hi!
I am so loving the slimline dies that Paper Rose has been releasing this year and I think the newer Scalloped Slimline set might end up being a favourite! Today I’m sharing a fairly simple card using them and a gorgeous older paper from PR so lets get started!
Paper Rose Products used: Slimline Scalloped Rectangles, Little Foliage 1 Dies, Moira Flower Die, Happy Birthday Layered Die Set, Dream In Pastel A5 paper collection, Daisy White Shimmer Cardstock, Clear Crystals, Liquid Glue
Other products used: A4 white cardstock (300gsm), die cutting machine, thin foam tape, Gansai Tambi Starry watercolour paints (champagne gold).
Technique: Using my Dreams In Pastel Paper, I cut the second largest slimline panel and 6 sets of the smaller flowers from the Moira Flower die set. I then glued the flowers together. Using a second sheet of the Dreams In Pastel paper which was more greens and blues, I cut a good handful of foliage. I sat all the die cut pieces into a box and splattered them with my Gansai Tambi Champagne Gold watercolour paint and allowed then to dry. In the meantime, I created my card base from the A4 sheet of paper which was 20cm x 21cm and folded it in half. With the white cut off piece I die cut it using the largest scalloped die. I also cut the word Birthday from the scalloped rectangles set once and the “Happy” from the layered happy birthday die set three times using the Daisy White Shimmer cardstock. I glued the happy’s together and then assembled my card as shown.
