Hi there!
Hi all, welcome to today’s blog post as part of my design teamwork for Paper Rose Studio.
Those that know me well know that I love to waterclour, and for today’s card I did my all-time favourite using the resist technique. What I mean by this is that I heat emboss the stamped image with an embossing powder and I chose Opaque Bright White from WOW! Embossing Powder which I have heat set on watercolour cardstock.
I used my Karin brush markers to colour the floral image in and helped blend the colours with an aquabrush. An aquabrush has a barrel that you fill with water with a brush tip to be able to blend in any watercolour paint or inks you use.
To add depth to the outside of the card front panel I added some ink blending with Distress Oxide ink weathered wood first then to deepen the edges I added Distress Oxide ink, Hickory Smoke. I stopped the ink blending just short of the image to help create a halo effect.
One thing I love that Paper Rose Studio has is preprinted images, the sentiment I used for the card is from the Big Sentiments 1.0 which has an array of sentiments perfect for every occasion. One thing I have to add is these are toner-printed sentiments which means you can FOIL these little babies. How exciting! I added a little ink blending around the sentiment to tie in the with the card front.
To finish the card off I added some Winter Sky sequins and that is today’s card for you.
