Hello crafty friends. I have a card to share with you today shines with some of the colours of Australia.
This card is basically three watercolour panels on a single sheet of paper. I painted the rectangles with clean water, then dropped concentrated colour paint into each, using Payne’s Grey, Raw Sienna and Burnt Sienna. I swirled the paper around until I got the colour mix in each rectangle that I wanted, then dried it and moved onto the next rectangle. When the whole panel was dry, I cut it using a Stitched Rectangles die.
The leaves are from the Snuugglepot and Cuddlepie Peeking Out Stamp set. I stamped each of them in Versamark clear ink, and then heat embossed them using rich gold embossing powder.
To make the sentiment, I cut a black circle, and added the sentiment from the Arty Love Typed Sentiments stamp into the centre of it. Best thing about circular sentiments? No worrying about stamping it straight!
I popped each of the layers up with foam tape, and chose a wheaty colour for my background. Nice watercolour paper is almost never white, so I often find that and ivory or wheat colour suits better.
This completed the card. I’m thinking that a set of these would make a nice gift. Perhaps I could make them in a range of colours for all seasons?
If you enjoyed this card and would like to see more, please feel free to visit my Instagram page, where I post all my cards (well, the ones I’m happy with, anyway!)
I hope that you are well, and that you are safe. I often think about my readers as I type and wonder where you all are, and whether you’re staying safe and sane. It is my prayer that you are.
Until next time, may your days be wonderful.
Blessings,
