Hello crafty friends. I’m typing this on my last night in Australia before we fly back to Japan. It’s been lovely to see friends and family, although we didn’t see nearly as many people as we would have liked! Time is a slippery thing!
I have a set of 10 cards for you today that are made from one paper pad – called Maizie’s Garden from Paper Rose Studio. It has delightful autumn tones, and some gorgeous watercolour leaves and berries.
I used Sketches from Sandy Allnock’s Operation Write Home card sketches. This is the second in my series using these sketches, so I’ve used sketches 11-20. The papers have lots of sentiments in matching colours so I’ve mostly used these for the cards.
The backs of the patterned papers in this pack had lots of beautiful tonal papers, so I used those for lots of my back layers. As well as this, I used some Copper Shimmer Cardstock from Paper Rose Studio for quite a few of the cards. There will be a video for this set of cards coming up soon on my YouTube channel at donnaisplayingpaper, but my computer is having some kind of existential crisis at the moment, and editing is proving almost impossible. I’ll have a new computer next week, so I’m hopeful that I can use that. Either way, it will be up once I’m back at my desk in Japan.
There’s just one element on these cards that doesn’t come from the paper pack, and that is the maple leaf in the card below. It was cut from Copper Shimmer Cardstock using a really lovely detailed Maple Leaf Die, also from Paper Rose.
Choosing the sketches, by number, in order, rather than carefully picking one sketch at a time has been revolutionary. I’ve saved so much time and angst!
I hope you’ve enjoyed having a look at these cards. I’ll have the video up just as soon as I can! Until next time, have a wonderful week,
Blessings
