Hello crafty friends. This fun die reminded me of something from my teenage years that I’d completely forgotten! As teens, my friends and I decided that a pink Volkswagen convertible was the car of our dreams. As it often is with teens, it was a collective favourite – I’m not sure who came up with the idea. But, as time went on, (and I married a man with a yellow Nissan) the dream was forgotten, or perhaps moved on from. I can’t imagine driving such an attention attracting car now- I’d rather drive unnoticed! ( Actually, I’d rather take the train!)
The hero die for these cards is the Love Bug Car Builder die from Paper Rose. I made two different cards, including one in pink, in honour of the memory, although they do have quite a few similarities. Rather watch a video? It’s below!
The first card has pieces coloured with ink, either by ink blending, or by swiping the pieces (and my fingers) over the ink pads. I added an ink blended background using the Sprinkle Hearts stencil from Paper Rose, and then popped the car and three sentiment strips up with foam tape.
Next, I made a card where I cut the different car pieces from coloured card stock (in my case, I used different colours of Shimmer card), and used a sentiment as my number plate, as well as a happy birthday sentiment on the background. The cloudy background was also made using a stencil, which I’ve linked below.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these fun cards, and that you are having a super day. Until next time,
Blessings,
Donna
