Hello friends! I’m back for another post with Paper Rose and today I’m sharing a few tips on how to use an intricate stencil like the Flourish Circle 1. so let’s get into it!
Paper Rose Products used: Flourish Circle 1 Stencil, Ginkgo Leaf 1 Die, Stitched Rectangles Nesting Dies, Black and White Sentiment Sheets, Smooth White Cardstock, Gold Shimmer Cardstock, Liquid Glue
Other products used: Scattered Straw Distress Ink, Flat foam Blending tool, Vellum
Technique:
- Take a sheet of Smooth White Cardstock and fold it in half to create your card base, then set aside.
- If you have Pixie Spray (or something like it) follow the instructions on using it for a stencil. If you don’t, attach the stencil to your cardstock using washi tape, or use a crafting tool like the Wendy Vecchi Stay-tation.
- Using the flat blending tool, pounce over the stencil lightly to build up colour until you’re happy, then remove the stencil. Using the ink left on your blending tool, lightly go over the stenciled area to give it some depth. Set aside to dry.
- Die cut Ginkgo leaf from gold cardstock and the shadow piece from vellum, glue together and set under something heavy to dry for 5 minutes.
- Die cut the stenciled panel from the 2nd largest rectangle die and foam mount to your card base. Add the Ginkgo leaf and your sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! Kelly.
