Christmas Gift Card Holder Card - Kelly Bates

Christmas Gift Card Holder Card - Kelly Bates

Tania Ridgwell |

Hello all! You didn’t think I’d let Christmas slip by without another interactive card design did you? This is my last Christmas make for Paper Rose this year and I’m going out with a flourish, so let’s get into it!
Other products used: A4 sheet 300gsm white cardstock, liquid glue, score board, paper trimmer, Simon Hurley Creates ink in Weeping Willow.
Technique:
  • Take your A4 sheet of cardstock and cut it in half lengthwise. Take one half and fold it in half to create a top fold card. With the other half cut a piece that is 7.5cm x 21cm and fold in half to create another smaller top fold card. With the remaining cardstock, cut a rectangle that is 8cm x 7.3cm, and another which is 2.5cm x 7.5cm which you then cut a finger slot into. From the larger top fold card, cut 5cm off from one end only.
  • For the patterned papers you’ll need one 10cm x 14.3cm panel, two 10cm x 9.3cm panels, two 7cm x 9.8cm panels and one 6.8cm x 7.8cm panel with a matching finger slot to the white cardstock.
  • Stamp sentiment onto small rectangle of cardstock and set aside to dry.
  • Cut 3 of the bauble die cut from the scraps of white cardstock, and then two from a patterned paper of your choice. Glue together all the cardstock pieces plus one of the patterned paper pieces and set aside to dry. Once dried, cut the stack on half and discard the right piece. Glue remaining patterned paper bauble on top and set under something heavy to dry fully.
  • Glue patterned paper panels onto large card base and the small card base, then glue the small card base overlapping the large one to create a gate, then glue gift card holder panel into place. Glue bauble die cut to the bottom left corner on the front of the card overlapping the flap of the card to act as a stopper.
  • Glue sentiment into place.
