Hi crafty friends. Time for a quick life update. It feels like it’s been a while, as so much has happened since my last blog. I’ve been to Perth for a super quick trip for a wedding, and started life as a university student (for the third time!) I’m studying Translating and Interpreting, and it’s both exhilarating and terrifying in equal parts. And a lot of work!
Anyway, on to the cards! I have a pair of cards here, with a whole bunch of dimension that you can’t really see from the front, but scroll down and look at that side view!
There is also a video of the making process, where you can see all the beautiful butterflies I had to choose from, as well as some tricks and tips along the way.
I used the gorgeous Rainbow Butterflies Embossed Die Cuts from Paper Rose as the feature for these cards. I popped them out of their background holes, then drew around the butterfly shaped holes to make some background butterflies to use as layers. I cut these with scissors and layered them flat where the body is, but using foam squares on the wings. I used the beautiful sturdy shimmer papers from the Stormy Seas and Blooming Blossoms packs for the background butterflies. I’ve linked to everything below, in Australia and the USA.
This first card above has a background made with the Striped Diamonds 3D embossing folder, and a sentiment from the Big Black and White Sentiment sheets.
This second card has a spattered background and a sentiment from the Bright Days Ahead sentiments. The embossing on the sentiment matches the butterflies.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these cards as much as I enjoyed making them. I hope to be back soon with some more cards!
Until then, may your days be full of wonder (and butterflies)
Blessings,
Donna
