Hello crafty friends. I feel like I’m just starting to reclaim my life after a very hectic October. I had a lot of fun in October, travelling to Western Australia, and taking on a year 9 camp, as well as making curtains for a whole house. But, as a result, I felt like a stranger when I got back into my craft room this week. But, that didn’t stop me from getting pretty much everything out to play.
Today’s card is a rainbow extravaganza! I’ve used a rainbow die, as well as rainbow paper. You can see the making of the card, with instructions for the easel element in the video below.
The die that I used is called Arches Border die from Paper Rose Studio. It cuts the three arches as well as a line across the image. I cut this twice from 110lb cardstock, so that it would be sturdy when glued together. I then slid a piece of scrap paper in between the arches to colour it with Copics. You can see this process towards the start of the video.
I used a sheet of Rainbow Twirl patterned paper, also from Paper Rose for the backgrounds on each part of the card, being careful to cut the different pieces so that the design lined up with the blue sky at the top. Easel cards are not difficult to make – all you need is one extra fold on the front, and a piece on the inside of the card with a bit of height to act as a ‘stopper’ for the folded card front.
I’ve chosen sentiments from my most used sentiment pack – Paper Rose Studio’s Black and White Sentiments. This card is going to someone who has recently been accepted to study medicine and will now be moving cities, so I wanted a congratulations and encouragement card for the occasion.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this card, and that you’re having a super day. Until next time,
Blessings,
Donna
